We had another banner year in 2014, with BiggerPockets growing on all levels. Beyond the obvious, this was a huge year for the growth of our team, giving us some much needed support and the ability to expand our content, community and development efforts.

We celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary and saw some other pretty amazing milestones as well. Let’s take a look at some of our accomplishments . . .

BiggerPockets by the Numbers:

Almost 6,000,000 unique visitors in 2014
230,000+ members (up 65%)
1,078,104 total BP forum posts (up 64%)
5,910 articles on the BiggerPockets Blog (added over 1,100)
6,175 registered companies (up 55%)
And there’s more.

We had visitors from all but 2 countries on the planet (Central African Republic and North Korea), and the networking and business that takes place as a result of BiggerPockets extends globally as well. We’ve continued to spawn local networking groups around the United States, and these have also begun to pop up internationally — including our Seoul, Korea group.

The BiggerPockets Community:

As our membership continued to explode, so too did the interactions on site and as a result, our members continued to see more and more success. Our Success Stories forum highlights many of the exciting wins for our users, with several members claiming 6 and 7 figure profits in 2014, thanks to BiggerPockets.

Here’s one constant:
Those people who take the time to engage and interact on our forums are the very same people who find success from BiggerPockets.

The principle behind this is very simple . . . if you take the time to share your experience and knowledge for the betterment of the community, others will take notice. Those people will want to connect with you, and since they can see that you know what you’re talking about or doing, they will want to work with you. Whether you’re answering questions, welcoming new members or helping someone analyze a deal, giving back to your peers by engaging on our forums is one of the easiest ways to build your reputation and as a result, to improve your deal flow. And if you don’t believe me, go through the Success Stories Forum I linked to above and do some reading…

If you are one of the tens of thousands of people who participated on the forums this year (we added around 1/2 million new forum posts in 2014), thank you for your contributions. If you are one of the thousands of people who joined our community, but who have yet to start connecting, why not start with a simple new member introduction post to let others know who you are and what your goals are?

BiggerPockets Real Estate Podcast:

The BiggerPockets Podcast continued to grow in popularity in 2014, and we just published our 102nd episode. In 2013 we averaged 16,500 listeners per show; that number has more than doubled to over 37,500+ listeners per show across ALL our shows! We also crossed 1,000 ratings on iTunes (999 of 1043 are 5-Star, a whopping 96% of our total).

We’ve got some changes in store for the coming year, with more high-level topics planned and of course, more awesome guests.

Team:

This year was the year that BiggerPockets as a company began to really come together. Our team grew to 10, with the addition of some great new folks, including: Blog Editor & Community Manager (Allison), Sales and Operations (Scott), Support (Hilary, Dave & Favia), and Development (Rob). These fantastic men and women, along with our Growth Hacker (Brandon) and other developers (Jarrett & Edd) work tirelessly to make your journey here on BP an amazing one.

Of course, I would be remiss if I were to forget to thank our amazing moderation team and our BiggerPockets Blog writers, who ensure you’ve got amazing content to consume and who keep the forums running smoothly.

Site Development & Infrastructure:

Our mission for this year was to improve the overall experience for our website’s users, and I think we accomplished that with flying colors. We vastly improved our infrastructure to minimize outages and downtime, and we sped up load time dramatically.

We also launched our site’s redesign and countless navigation improvements in the first half of the year. In recent months we overhauled the BiggerPockets Blog, giving members the ability to comment seamlessly via their member accounts, leading to a dramatic increase in interactions on our articles.

With the help of our growing development team, we’ve also fixed countless bugs, and going forward, we’ve been putting together the next phases of our growth plans. We expect to bring you lots of awesome new features and tools in 2015 and will also deliver to you a much improved mobile experience for users of all devices. Stay tuned…

BiggerPockets Publishing:

Our first two published books, The Book on Flipping Houses and The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs, continued to sell very well, with both becoming an almost permanent fixture on Amazon’s Top 10 Real Estate Books list.

We followed those publications with a new release in 2014, The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down from our very own Brandon Turner. The book does an amazing job of illustrating many of the creative techniques available to invest in real estate with little to no money down. Brandon’s personal successes guided the creation of the book, and he doesn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for ways to grow your real estate investments, the book is a must read!

BiggerPockets Webinars:

We expanded the educational offerings of BiggerPockets in 2014 with the launch of our weekly/bi-weekly webinars. With topics like “How to Find, Analyze, and Finance an Incredible Rental Property Deal” and “How to Use BiggerPockets to Become a Rockstar Investor,” we’ve hosted thousands of guests and have helped them be more successful in real estate and on our platform.

For those interested, we’ve got a new webinar coming out next Tuesday (12/30), “10 Must …read more
