House Hunters on HGTV has grown rapidly in popularity since it began and now reaches 1.5 million people per episode. House Hunters takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process as buyers search for a home.
About Our Experience with HHI: My main contact up until the day of filming was with one of the producers. The show had never filmed in Vallarta, so I was pretty much left in charge of laying out all the different and wonderful locations and attractions of our beautiful tropical town for the shoot. The guidelines were specific and challenging; The properties needed to be quite different from one another and we needed to find engaging social activities. After a few months of planning and prepping, we were able to narrow down our ambitions. However, it was important for the producers to showcase the personal and emotional connection between the buyers, the properties and the vibrant lifestyle of Puerto Vallarta. Three big elements in a 30 minute program: Could it be done?
