Containers are an ideal material for coastal living and structurally sound, designed to withstand the elements. Additionally, reclaimed wood and other ecological and sustainable materials have been used throughout the home. All materials and labor were locally sourced in the construction of this unique project. Given its ideal hillside location, the home was designed to take advantage of the natural air floor for year-round comfort. However, energy-efficient individual air conditioning units cool the bedrooms and the spa room off the pool. The 40-foot swimming pool is a natural eco system of plant life along with sand filters and UV pumps, creating a safe, holistic swimming experience. No chemicals or salt are used in the process.
