The summer season is often known as our low season here in Puerto Vallarta. Since we live in the tropics, summer is a bit more humid and the refreshing rains start to come every afternoon. Thus the myth is that tourists, expats and even some locals leave the area for the a few months. Well a myth is just what that is. This summer has been one of our busiest here at Timothy Real Estate Group, and we only see it getting better through the rest of this year and into 2015.
In comparing the sales statistics between the first 8 months of 2013 and the first 8 months of 2014 using our Puerto Vallarta AMPI MLS system they are nothing if not impressive. Year to date pending sales are up 65% for condominiums and 46% for houses. Sold condominiums are up 40% and up 23% for houses. Sales Volume is also up 56% for condominiums and 21% for houses.
With the market improving we have more properties coming up for sale offering more options for buyers and obviously with the numbers improving the sellers are having more success. Well priced properties and more buyers are making for a very hot summer in the Puerto Vallarta real estate market. Now would definitely be the time to invest in the market before the appreciation that we have seen in the US trickles down south of the border, which is always does.
