Punta de Mita

Punta de Mita is actually a picturesque peninsula located at the northern tip of Banderas Bay surrounded by the fine white sands of the Corral del Risco and El Anciote beaches. The area features developments of lavish world class resorts, posh boutique hotels, luxurious spas and wellness experiences, and championship designed, signature-name golf courses.

The Nicklaus Pacifico course offers the world’s only “true island hole” – those skilled enough to “hit the green” must get there to putt via a water tram! Punta de Mita’s calm waters invite snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, sailing, sport fishing and a fabulous vantage point from which to view the winter long migration of the humpback whales. Restaurants line the beach and offer the day’s fresh local seafood prepared by world-class chefs, while guests relax with tropical drinks to breathtaking sunsets.

Litibú

Litibu, located just north of Punta de Mita, is the focal point of a major government beach vacation development project. Luxury resorts will be carefully integrated into the cliffs, virgin beaches and paradise-like surroundings, insuring that the beauty and existence of the ecosystem and environment are well preserved. The first hotels and a new Greg Norman golf course have recently opened to rave reviews and this area will soon be recognized internationally as a world-class destination unto itself. Another Litibu attraction is its turtle sanctuary, open to the public from July through December, where visitors can participate and release young hatchlings back into the sea.
