It is no secret that in the Mexican tourist destinations towns of Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Cancun we have seen increased percentages of investment from Mexican nationals over the last few years. While the United States has had it’s economic problems, Mexico’s economy has remained strong and growing due mostly to industrial productivity.
John K Glaab recently reported on the AMPI National conference. Here is what he reported:
“Ariel Cano Cuevas is the Director General of Vivienda, Mexico’s national housing agency. He delivered the keynote speech at the recent Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) Toma de Protesta (Inauguration) in Mexico City. During the presentation he announced new initiatives for two social housing agencies, INFONAVIT and FOVISSTE. He concluded his remarks by predicting the housing industry in this country will remain strong throughout 2012.”
As we head into summer our Puerto Vallarta office has remained busy this spring and even though most of the snowbirds have gone north for the summer, we are enjoying some great activity in the market.
